Green married Martha Morgan, daughter of Jesse Morgan and Mary Grant, on 1 December 1837 in Buncombe County, North Carolina.1,4 William S. Green died on 21 January 1898 in Buncombe County, North Carolina, at age 81.3,1 He was buried in Hominy Baptist Church Cemetery, Candler, Buncombe County, North Carolina.3
     William was also known as Williams.1 He appeared on the census of 1840 in Buncombe County, North Carolina.
