     Judge Samuel Sewall was born on 28 March 1652 in Bishopstoke, Hampshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Henry Sewall and Jane Dummer.1,2 Judge Samuel Sewall married (1) Hannah Hull, (2) Abigail (Melyn) Tilley, (3) Mary (Shrimpton) Gibbes.1 He died on 1 January 1730 at age 77.1,3
     He immigrated on the Prudent and Mary, arriving 6 July 1661 in Boston, Massachusetts Bay Colony, with his mother Jane Dummer.1 Judge Samuel Sewall graduated from Harvard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts Bay Colony, in 1671.3 He was the first chief Justice of Massachusetts.1
