     Captain Thomas Butler was born on 31 January 1715/16 in New London, Connecticut Colony, at 3 o'clock in the evening.3,1,2 He was the son of Lieutenant Walter Butler and Mary Harris.1,2 Captain Thomas Butler was baptized on 5 February 1715/16 in New London, Connecticut Colony.1 He died after 8 September 1759 in Albany, Province of New York.1
     He left a will on 8 September 1759 in Albany, Province of New York. In his will, he made bequests to his brother John, sisters Mary Vanderheyden and Ann, and the daughters of his later brother Walter.
