     John Butler was born after 1707 in Ipswich, Province of Massachusetts Bay.1 He was the son of Lieut. William Butler and Mary Ingalls.1 John Butler married Hannah Perkins, daughter of Abraham Perkins and Abigail Dodge, on 16 April 1730 in Ipswich, Province of Massachusetts Bay. The intentions were published Dec. 27, 1729.2 John Butler died in 1755 in New London, Connecticut Colony.1
     He and Hannah Perkins moved to Lyme, Connecticut Colony, in 1736.3

Their son Richard Booth was listed as living with them.3 Elizabeth A. Booth and Mark Roman Gardner appeared on the 1930 Federal census of South Jordan, Salt Lake County, Utah enumerated 21 April 1930. Their children Richard Booth and Douglas Lovell were listed as living with them.1 Elizabeth A. Booth and Mark Roman Gardner appeared on the 1940 Federal census of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah enumerated 12 April 1940.
