His headstone says October 26th.¹ He was buried in God's Acre Cemetery, Catlin, Vermillion County, Illinois.⁴
     Mark was also known as Marcus.⁴ He moved to Butler's Point, Illinois, now Catlin, Vermillion County, in 1821 as the driver of one of the teams of James Butler, his future father-in-law.⁴
