     Edmund Sherman was born on 23 June 1572 in Dedham, Essex, England.2 He was the son of Edmund Sherman and Anne Pelatt.1 Edmund Sherman married as his first wife Joane (?), daughter of Tobias Makin and Katherine Bell, before 1599 in England.3 Edmund Sherman married as his second wife Judith Angier on 15 May 1611 in Dedham, Essex, England.4 Edmund Sherman died in 1641 in New Haven, New Haven Colony, now Connecticut.2,3
     Edmund Sherman and Judith Angier immigrated in 1632 on the James departing from along with children from his first marriage, Bezaleel Sherman, Rev. John Sherman, Grace Sherman, Samuel Sherman, Esther Sherman, Richard Sherman and Edmund Sherman., arriving in Charlestown, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Their children Bezaleel, John, Grace and Samuel traveled with them.5 Savage says he was in Wethersfield, Connecticut Colony, now Hartford County by 1635, then moved to New Haven. He was referred to as "Olde Father Shirman."6
