     James Hanson was born in November 1799 in Nicholasville, Jessamine County, Kentucky.1 He was the son of Samuel Hanson and Rebecca Waterman.2 James Hanson died on 8 August 1883 at age 83.2
     He appeared on the 1850 Federal census of Springfield, Ross County, Ohio, enumerated 18 September 1850 along with his wife and nine children.1 He appeared on the 1880 Federal census of Clay, Auglaize County, Ohio, enumerated June 1880 in the houshold of his daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Samuel Cochran..3

The family was originally from France, emigrating during the righn of Louis XIV. Adolphe de Comtee was High Sheriffe of London and Middlesex in 1643.1,2 He was baptized on 22 April 1693.2 He married Jane Brooke, daughter of Thomas Brooke and Barbara Dent, before 1727.1 Alexander Contee died on 24 December 1740 in Province of Maryland.1
