     Thomas Barnard was born circa 1612 in Brandelstone, Suffolk, England, near Ipswich.^4,3 He was the son of Thomas Barnard. Thomas Barnard married Eleanor (?) circa 1640.² Thomas Barnard died on 7 July 1677 in Amesbury, Massachusetts Bay Colony, now Essex County, killed during an Indian raid.^4,3,5
     He immigrated in 1638. He recieved land in the first division in Salisbury, Massachusetts Bay Colony, now Essex County, 1640 and 1643.³ Thomas was one of the original purchasers of Nantucket though he never moved there. He transferred half his share to his brother Robert and the other half to his son Nathaniel.² He was one of the first settlers of Amesbury, Massachusetts Bay Colony, now Essex County, as early as 1672.³ His widow Eleanor (?) was made administrator of his estate in October 1677.⁴

     Eleanor's birth date is unknown. Eleanor was born in England. She married Thomas Barnard, son of Thomas Barnard, circa 1640.² Eleanor (?) married as her second husband George Little on 19 July 1681 in Newbury, Massachusetts Bay Colony.^3,4,5 Eleanor (?) died on 27 November 1694 in Amesbury, Province of Massachusetts Bay.^6,5
