     Samuel Cole was born on 18 September 1763.1 He was the son of Remick Cole and Martha Rankin. Samuel Cole married Hannah Shackley, daughter of Thomas Shackley, before 1790. Samuel Cole died on 31 March 1851 at age 87.1
     Samuel lived in Sanford, York County, Maine. He appeared on the 1850 Federal census of Kennebunk, York County, Maine, in the household of his son John Cole.2

Remick Cole1

     Remick Cole was born in January 1739/40 in Kittery, Province of Massachusetts Bay, now Maine.1,2 He was the son of Robert Cole and Phebe Shepard.2,3 Remick Cole married Martha Rankin, daughter of James Rankin and Philadelphia Nason, in December 1762.1 Remick Cole died after 1785.
     Barbara Ziegler wrote" Remick Cole is supposed to be a descendent of Nicholas Cole who settled Coles Corners in Wells and who died there in 1688. Nicholas is supposed to be the son of William Cole who came to Wells in 1641 or 42 and who died in Hampton NH in 1662. Nicholas Cole's sons were Nicholas Jr (shot by indians 5/11/1704), John, Thomas (who with his wife Abagail were killed by indians in 1696). Asa Cole was brother to Asahel, called "Old Squire Cole" of Cornish. Ira was a son to Asahel."

Remich Cole lived on Coles Corner. Enlisted in Captain James Hubbard's Co in 1775.1
