Faris died on 21 May 1904 at age 63.3,5 He was buried on 24 May 1904 in Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri, Section 017, lot 0021.3,6,7
     He appeared on the 1870 Federal census of St. Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri, enumerated 29 June 1870 in the household of retired merchant Roger McAllister. His mother, Mary Faris was also in the household. He was a steamboat clerk..8 He and Marie Clemence Benoist appeared on the 1880 Federal census of St. Louis, Missouri, enumerated 9 November 1880. Marie's brothers Louis Auguste Benoist, Theodore Benoist, Howard A. Benoist and Leo de Smet Benoist were also in the household. His occupation was listed as real estate broker.2 Charles A.      John Frances Carton was born in 1854.1,3 He was the son of John Carton and Mary Ellen O'Neil.4 John Frances Carton married Helen Amanda Benoist, daughter of Louis Auguste Benoist and Sara E. Wilson, on 19 September 1877 in St. Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri. They were married at the home of her sister Marie Benoist Farris.5,6,7 John Frances Carton died on 27 June 1905.1 He was buried on 29 June 1905 in Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri, Section 017, lot 0021. Compiler's notes: There are many other Cartons buried in this plot in Calvary Cemetery but I have not worked on figuring out their relationships.1,8
